Fate Watch Order

The Fate series has multiple routes, a prequel and a pile of spin-offs, and fans argue about the order endlessly. Here is a beginner-friendly path through the core stories.

Recommended order

Start with Unlimited Blade Works, then watch the Fate/Zero prequel — its biggest emotional payoffs land only once you already know where the characters end up, so watching it first spoils them. Finish the core three with the Heaven’s Feel films.

Chronological order

The in-universe timeline puts Fate/Zero first (it is set ten years before the main story). It is internally consistent, but it front-loads reveals the writers intended you to meet later — only pick this if you dislike prequels-after.
